Manage Your Business During The COVID-19 Pandemic. Don't Let It Manage You.

Hi, I'm Josh Roberts, Co-Founder of RSG Sales. I wanted to talk to you all a little bit about how to manage your business during the COVID-19 Pandemic.

We all want to keep our businesses strong and healthy while managing stress and uncertainty. In my opinion, managing the fear is number one. It is so easy to be overwhelmed by the unknown short and long term impacts of the virus.

So, again I am Josh Robert, Co-Founder of RSG Sales. We are 100% dedicated to the e-commerce account management. We work with accounts like Walmart.com, Amazon, Hayneedle, HomeDepot.com, Overstock, and Target.com.

So, how do business owners best use this our time during this unprecedented time? In my opinion, the #1 thing we can do is keep moving.

Keep running your business.

Innovate and identify new products that can bring success to you.

Look for new sources of supply.

Find new partnerships.

Keep the wheel turning.

Of course, we have to make contingency plans. Create a plan on how your business can react if the economy slows down over the long term. But, ultimately you want to keep going.

Continue to do what you do better than anyone else. Keep doing it better and be more aggressive than your competitors.

Now is a perfect time to aggressively promote. Stretch yourself a bit and run aggressive sales that still fall within your margin thresholds. This is the way you are going to get more eyeballs and traffic on your products.

Also, take time to focus on the parts of the business that you often push to the side. For many people marketing is what gets pushed to the side. I believe now is when you should double down on your marketing efforts.

Speaking of marketing look at your current marketing efforts. Are you targeting the right customer? Are you clearly stating your unique selling position? Getting clear on that we help you reach new clients and grow the business.

I'm a big believer in the basics. I like to use sports analogies like in football the basics are blocking and tackling. Having good merchandising is the basics of e-commerce. Use this time to review your product titles, product description, bullet points, and selling features. All of these things can improve SEO conversation rates. Take the time to make your listings stronger.

Spend time looking at how you are currently managing your data aka your product catalog. Do all of your products have the best in class imagery? If not and you can't afford to correct that now make a list of what items need to be corrected first. Then, you will have a starting point when business ramps back up.

Make sure you are able to stay in stock on the products that do 80% of your business. This is extremely important.

Is there anything else that you put on the back-burner? Now, is the time to dive into it and get it done.

If you take the time now to get everything in order just imagine how much stronger your company will be when the pandemic passes.
