What You Need To Know About Wayfair’s Vendor Portal
Over the last 18 months there has been a big shift at Wayfair. Many smaller suppliers have been moved from a specific buyer to the “general” pool called Supplier Service Desk.
While financially this makes a lot of sense for Wayfair the practical side for Suppliers can be painful to say the least and costly to boot.
This puts the onus on the Supplier to know the ins and outs of a Wayfair’s newly renamed Partner Home. The problem with this is that most Suppliers are too busy to stop and really pay attention to the regular changes and updates.
Today we are discussing the 5 Things Every Wayfair Supplier Needs to Know About Partner Home.
Order Management
This may seem obvious but you need to know how to download orders, receive ship address changes, receive ship speed change, or even update a late shipment.
Tickets
Tickets are the hub of Wayfair’s customer service and the place the Suppliers can submit questions.
Inventory
The two most important features of the Inventory tab are Inventory Management and Product Discontinuation.
Wayfair requires all suppliers to update their inventory every 48 hours. The Best Practice for inventory updates is daily. If your company is using EDI or API you will not need to update inventory in Partner Home. This is one of the features of EDI or API.
All Product Discontinuations are also done under the Inventory tab.
Pricing Hub
The Pricing Hub is just one of the newest features Wayfair has introduced in the last 3 months. Wayfair describes it as the “new one-stop-shop for everyday pricing.
In the Pricing Hub you will have access to upcoming price changes and all previously submitted pricing updates.
In addition Wayfair has implemented the Recommended Actions Section. This is where Wayfair gives Suppliers “recommendations” to improve the cost of your products. Note to self: These are always decreases not increases. ;)
On the horizon the Pricing Hub will add features with curated wholesale pricing opportunities and a pricing calendar to track how your costs change throughout the years.
Accelerant Hub
If Pricing Hub was the one-stop-shop for all things pricing and pricing updates then, Accelerant Hub is the one-stop-shop for pricing, promotional, and marketing opportunities.
This is where you opt in for major campaigns, participate in Wayfair Sponsored Products, and even put in Close Out pricing.
One of the perks of the Accelerant Hub is you can see the revenue that has been generated from the various promotional avenues.
Now, the downside of the Accelerant Hub is a biggie! If you do not opt out of an event or promotion then, Wayfair will AUTOMATICALLY use their recommended price! So, make sure you are checking the Accelerant Hub several times a week.
